On September 11, 2025, the OXEA factory in the northern part of the city will conduct a siren test as part of the upcoming nationwide civil defense drill. This test is an additional component of the drill, not connected to any specific emergency scenario.

The OXEA factory siren test does not involve the use of warning apps, cell broadcast, radio, digital display boards, or sirens outside of its own facility. Instead, it is intended to test the readiness of OXEA's own emergency response systems.

At 11:06 AM during the drill, a warning tone will be sounded for one minute, followed by an all-clear tone at 11:12 AM. The all-clear tone will last for one minute as well. It's important to note that the OXEA factory siren test is a separate event from the nationwide drill, but coordinated with it.

The goal of the drill, both nationwide and the OXEA factory siren test, is to quickly and reliably inform the public in case of emergencies, major fires, or hazardous material incidents. In Oberhausen, 43 sirens will sound simultaneously during the drill.

The purpose of the drill is to test warning systems and familiarise the public with various warning methods. It's worth mentioning that OXEA's participation in the drill does not affect the testing of warning systems or the familiarisation of the public with various warning methods.

In addition, Siemens AG has already tested its factory sirens on the state civil protection exercise day, September 11, 2025, demonstrating the involvement of various companies in ensuring the effectiveness of the drill.

The next nationwide civil defense drill will occur on September 11, 2025. The public is encouraged to stay informed and follow the instructions provided during the drill to ensure their safety.
